Cityzens Giving is a brand new programme, funded by our annual revenues, that allows City fans to extend the ‘football effect’ to areas of need across the globe. Every Cityzen has been given £5 to invest in six charity football projects – run by young people for young people – that uses the beautiful game to tackle difficult and damaging problems for young people today.
Urban Football Project was developed by Cristian to tackle Gang violence in his local community. Teaming up with a group of like-minded young leaders, Cristian and his peers came up with a new project that uses Colombia’s passion for football as a force to promote harmony and safe spaces. The project provides a safe area to play football, connect with mentors and role models and access education on how to deal with the threat of drugs and gangs.
